We have all kinds of things to do on the farm, for your children or the whole family.

Helping feed the animals
We have all kinds of things running around: cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs. These all have to be fed and the cow has to be milked. Klara is our tame lady with whom Farmer Peter’s children learn how to milk by hand.
On the chalkboard near the store are the feeding and milking times when you can go out with Farmer Peter.
Picking up eggs
A real fresh egg for breakfast, it comes straight from the chickens. In the large chicken coop, you may collect your own eggs. A perfect chore for the kids. Need more? In our farm store, we also sell them.

The farm store

We have a farm store where you can go for all kinds of things, such as practical items for your stay. But you can also find (organic) local products, such as delicious jams and juices, local beers and Dutch wine. You can order freshly baked breads and other delicacies from the artisan bakery. We sell organic ice cream and pork and beef from our own farm. Guests write down what they bring in the clapper and checkout at the end. So just walk in and browse around.

On the road with the tractor
Every Tuesday and Saturday we hit the road with the tractor. Then we would love to show you how a dairy farm works. With a real vintage tractor and farm cart, we drove right through the meadow to our neighbors, Farmer Martin and Farmer Paula. We will show you the farm with more than two hundred cows. Bring a milk jug and for 2 euros you can fill it with real fresh, raw milk.
From April 1 to October 31

Pizza night
In the yard is a large wood-fired oven. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the logs go on and it’s pizza night. Grab a ball of pizza dough, roll it around and turn it into something beautiful with the fresh ingredients at the ready. The evening sun, add a glass of cold lemonade and taste how delicious we can bake pizza on the farmland.
Pizza night costs €12.50 per person. Children up to 4 years of age may eat along with their parents, as well as making their own pizza from half a ball of dough.

Swimming
Warm? Cool off in our pool in the yard. The pool is 4 meters in diameter and 1.20 meters deep. Don’t worry about your adventurous toddler hitting the road. We shielded the pool with a chestnut fence. The water is kept clean with salt electrolysis, which is much nicer for the skin and eyes (and nature!) than chlorine.
From April 1 to October 31
Playing, playing, playing
Our farm is a true outdoor living play paradise. Climb the haystack, swing in the swings, go down the slide or make mud pies with the water pump. Or go on adventures with the go-karts and balance bikes. And then if you still have energy there is the big trampoline in the grass. And of course we have games lying around that you can borrow, for when the weather is bad.
Exploring the area
You won’t be bored for a moment this vacation. Picturesque towns such as Elburg, Hanseatic city Kampen or picturesque Hattem are highly recommended. The beautiful lakes where you can swim in the summer can also be found nearby, such as the Veluwemeer or the Heerderstrand. In the A. Vogeltuinen you will find the barefoot trail, really fun.
Bird watching
Near the farm are bird conservation areas, so birding is good from the tent or terrace of the bed and breakfast. You’ll see them flying often: buzzards, hawks, a stork. And with a little luck, you can see owls at dusk. We have several nest boxes hanging to support biodiversity in the area.

Animal search in nature
What could be more fun than going on a scavenger hunt for everything that lives in the trees, bushes and ditches? For sleuths, we have the free-range Kids Box from the Institute for Nature Education, which includes a bird search card. Ditch search maps, landing nets, magnifying glasses and binoculars for children. You can borrow these items in our little store.

Fruit picking in the picking garden
Apples, cherries, plums, pears… In spring they are in full bloom. We have beautiful, authentic varieties on display such as the Cox’ Orange Pippin apple, the Double Farmers White plum and Early Rivers cherry. Since fruit goes into our jams and cakes, we have a nice picking garden with berries and grapes to snack on.
Hiking and biking
Several hiking trails begin near the farm. The drift sand area near ‘t Harde has heathland with juniper bushes and a flock of Veluwe heath sheep. You can bike anywhere, but the Wezepsche heath is really recommended for a trip. This water reclamation area of Vitens originated in the ice age and Scottish Highlanders walk there.
